FAQ

Questions about Habitat’s security guard app

Why a gate device instead of the guard’s own phone?

The gate holds residents’ phone numbers, visitor photos and who comes and goes. On a personal phone that data can end up in a gallery or a WhatsApp forward. The Habitat device runs only Habitat, stays on and online, and can be locked and wiped if it is lost.

Is the guard app hard to learn?

No. The home screen has New visitor and Enter code as large buttons, and training for guards is included free, on call or on site.

Can guards see staff attendance?

Society staff and residents’ daily help check in and out with their entry code at the same keypad, and the office reviews attendance in the admin.

Is it really free?

Yes. There is no subscription, per-flat fee, setup fee or paid tier, and onboarding, migration and training are free too. The only third-party charge is the payment gateway’s standard fee on online payments, shown before anyone pays.
